That Damned Mr. Green

That damned mr. green nearly caused me some trouble today. He insisted on sharing lunch with me, and our gregarious conversation relaxed me to the point of taking a nap. I pretty much was calling it a day. Wouldn't you know it, this is the one day in which the office needs to get in touch with me. A colleague called first, interrupting the nap. This was followed up by a supervisory call, which was distressing because this supervisor never bothers me on my cell. The third call was another by him, which prompted me to head out to the car and back to work. I returned his call, all was well, and I rolled back in as if it were a long lunch. Damned Grrreenie.

A-Rod comes up big!!!!???

I know, I know, some of you must be thinking you misread that title... but you did not. Savvybeast, avowed Yankee hater, dedicating a blog to A-Rod , the Yankees 25 million dollar man. He got a big hit tonight... I'm serious, he did. Game winning HR against the Atlanta Braves. A Braves team that isn't even .500. But still, A-Rod got a big hit... really. Oh, more importantly the Red Sox are trouncing the Mets. I like the Mets, but nothing holds tighter than Red Sox Nation!

Holy Crap... looks great!

This is the link for the new Spider-Man trailer, and damned it looks great. The little lady and I will be seeing Superman tomorrow, and I plan on following that up with X-3.. (I really held off, even though wifey saw it.) Aside - I held off too long on MI:3 and missed it.

Treasonous Outrage !?

This is my first political post of the new blog, but I had to comment on the "outrage" of Dick Cheney and George Bush -

Just so everyone has this clear. The administration lied about WMD's that do not exist. They lied about yellowcake. They used terms like "mushroom clouds, mobile weapons of death, and spreading democracy." As time has worn on we see that there were so many lies it's nearly impossible to keep up. There is the treasonous outing of a CIA agent, directly linked to the Vice Presidents office. There was the unconstitutional tapping of phone lines (remember when the administration assured the american people that only transatlantic phone calls were being tapped... which was also proven to be a lie. Now the financial transactions of americans are being spied on as well... king george and his merry band of war profiteering neo fascists continue to ignore the constituition with impunity, and the sheople let it continue.

Ozzy Guillen - overrated bigot

" That's right, I'll say it twice... F** k, off, Bud Selig, and screw the rest of you fags too.... screw PC, if you don't like it I will have my pitcher hit you!"

So Ozzy Guillen, the manager of the Chicago White Sox, calls a reporter (Jay Mariotti) he doesn't like a "fag". This is included with a healthy dose of swearing and attitude, and falls on the heels of Ozzy's shenanigans last week, in which he ordered a rookie pitcher to go headhunting and hit an opposing player. The pitcher was unsuccesful, (in Ozzy's eyes) because he did not hit the player. He did get the opposing player to ground out, which I thought was the job of the pitcher in MLB (get players out), but apparently for the Ozman, hitting is more important. Machismo rules... after all, he probably figured his pitcher was also a "fag" for not manning up and hitting somebody.

Compare this to Dallas Maverics owner Mark Cuban being fined $250, 000 by NBA commisioner David Stern for criticizing poor officiating, a complaint that any of the millions watching the NBA finals could easily recognize as legitimate.

As I've said before, the rules of PC are so arbitrary. I hate to see PC run amok, but the truth is that if Guillen had made an ethnic slur he would probably be in real trouble, and if he were white and used an ethnic slur, he would likely be fired.

Back in the Game

I'm back, bitches! I've decided to get back into the blogging game, and this time I promise a purer version of the beast, unfiltered, so to speak. I will also use links in my blogs, something I used to abhor, but after conferring with friends this weekend I was convinced that links are good.
